Jim Richardson

Jim Richardson is a photographer, writer, speaker, teacher, National Geographic photographer, contributing editor of National Geographic Traveler and a champion of unsung people, places, and issues. His Midwest upbringing taught him to work hard and to be kind. His pictures are the marriage of dogged research and romantic passion. His many stories mirror his concerns, first for the essentials of a healthy planet, including rivers, water, soil, food and agriculture, then for neglected landscapes and the endangered night, and finally for the lives of uncelebrated peoples, small towns, and wee islands. CBS News Sunday Morning, ABC’s Nightline, Martha Stewart Living, and a myriad of books and magazines have profiled his work. His many trips around the world all lead back to Lindsborg, Kansas, where he and his wife, Kathy, share their life at Small World Gallery.
